This particular project was located in the city of Riverside just east of Moreno Valley and Perris in Riverside County. Empire-PLS was contracted by Chase Banks main general contractors to install parking lot striping at a dozen locations throughout the Southern California.  This time around Chase asked us to perform some asphalt repairs on several of their locations where new ATM's where being installed.  Chase needed these repairs done quickly and at a good price.  We ended up doing projects in San Diego as well as Riverside Ca.  Take a look at the video below for a little glimpse of this small but important asphalt project.

About our Asphalt Repair Process

Empire Parking Lot Services arrived at the project located in Riverside California at about 10 am.  We were asked to come in at that time because some other contractors where working and we where to come in behind them.  Once we got there we barricaded off the area with delineation and ribbon for the safety of the general public.  We staged our dump truck and equipment in an area that wouldn't disrupt the surrounding businesses.   We started off by cleaning the area of broken asphalt that surrounded the concrete base of the new ATM they where installing.  Once cleaned, we proceeded to tack coat the edges to guarantee adhesion of the new asphalt with the existing asphalt and concrete.  We installed a base pave of material in to the trench and manually compacted it to ensure that no sink holes or depressions would form in the future.  This is a vital step that is often overlooked by other asphalt contractors because its time consuming.  Once the primary asphalt was compacted we added the rest of the asphalt to form the cap.  The cap is basically the asphalt that is the top layer that will become the finished product.  We compacted the cap with a vibratory plate and ironed the edges for a smooth zero transition from existing asphalt surface to the new asphalt surface.  We cleaned up our mess and we headed home. Another great Riverside asphalt repair project complete.
