5S & Lean Warehouse Striping & Services

This month Empire Parking Lot Services performed 5S and Lean warehouse striping, labeling, sign hanging, stenciling, and other services for some pretty impressive companies. These businesses included Coca Cola, Federal Express, Costco, Edison, as well as several major 3PL (third party logistics) companies. In most cases we are implementing 5s or lean strategies for them via line painting sign hanging etc. When it comes to these types of services we are the number one provider of them in the Western United States. 5S & Lean Definitions

5S is the name of a workplace organization method that uses a list of five Japanese words all starting with the letter S. The list describes how to organize a work space for efficiency and effectiveness by identifying and storing the items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining the new order. Lean on the other hand is a production practice that considers the expenditure of resources for any goal other than the creation of value for the end customer to be wasteful, and thus a target for elimination. In a nutshell these methods are meant to create a highly organized work environment and reduce waste while making abnormalities stand out quickly.
