These repairs were for 1 area (3,900 square feet), totaling 42 tons of asphalt installation. Due to the state of the existing asphalt, this project was a prime candidate for an [asphalt overlay](https://www.empirepls.com/asphalt-repair-services/asphalt-overlay). The overlay should hold together until they are ready for their next parking lot service.   The equipment used for this project were, a skid steer, roller, industrial blower, brooms, shovels, dump truck, and seal tank. All these tools were expertly handled by our experienced asphalt crew in a safe and clean work environment to provide the highest quality of service. The process of asphalt overlaying is becoming a very popular choice in repairing asphalt these days. The reason for this is that it gives another option other than complete asphalt removal. R&R's (remove and replace projects) are more expensive mostly due to the need to haul off and dump the old asphalt, resulting in large dumping fees, not to mention if all of the asphalt had to be removed there would be a need for a larger amount of new product, and while not every project is a candidate for the overlay approach, this one was a perfect fit.
