In 2013 Empire Parking Lot Services was awarded a project in Rancho Cucamonga CA. Our returning customer was a steel manufacturing facility, and they needed to have the roads around their complex repaired in about 15 different areas totaling about 280 tons of asphalt installation. Their roads had been damaged by heavily loaded trucks driving over them for previous ten years or so.

After discussing it with our customer, we decided that we would approach the problem using an asphalt milling and cap approach. With the areas being quite wide and the damage being expertly assessed, it was a good fit for their needs and their budget.

The process of milling and capping is becoming a very popular choice in repairing asphalt these days. The reason for this is that it gives another option other than complete asphalt removal. R&R's (remove and replace projects) are more expensive mostly due to the need to haul off and dump the old asphalt, resulting in large dumping fees, not to mention if all of the asphalt had to be removed there would be a need for a larger amount of new product, and while not every project is a candidate for the mill and cap approach, this one was a perfect fit.

At Empire we take pride in making educated recommendations that will suit the specific needs of each customer individually. This approach is also a good fit for customers that have a critical time shortage. Time is something that large companies don't always have a lot of, and some of our customers have that exact situation.

One of the great benefits of using the mill and cap approach is that large areas of repair can be done in a relatively short period of time. Many of our customer's run fast paced, highly organized companies, so they need a contractor that runs the same way. We arrived at about 6:00 AM and had the project turned back over to them by 3:00 PM that same day.

The work was done correctly, looked great, and all areas were cleaned up, swept up and ready for work the next morning. The specifics will always depend on the size and assessment of your current situation, but knowing that you will get an honest, upfront estimate from a professional and reputable company equals peace of mind which is priceless.
