Seal & Striping for CTA
This weekend Empire Parking Lot Services was asked to perform a seal coating & a re stripe project in Santa Fe Springs California. Santa Fe Springs is located in Los Angeles between the cities of Whittier and Downey to the east and west as well as Pico Rivera and Norwalk to the north and south. CTA also known as California Teachers Association called Empire PLS to get their parking lot seal coated, their curbs painted, and their parking stalls and handicaps re painted for a fresh and new look. Seal coating serves two main purposes one is to create a fresh and clean look to your parking lot and the other is to protect your asphalt from rain and sun and other damaging factors that add to breaking down your asphalt parking lot. CTA had many choices when it came to hiring a seal coating contractor and where glad they chose us.

How the Asphalt Repair Work Went Down
Our sealcoating crew showed up to the project at 7 am on Tuesday morning. We used brooms and blowers to prep the asphalt. Once the asphalt had been cleaned and cleared off dirt, leaves, etc it was ready for its fresh coat of slurry seal. We applied a thick coat of diversified seal coating material to the entire surface of the parking lot, being very careful to not get any on the concrete aprons or curbs. After the seal coat was finished we fully barricaded the parking lot off for the safety of the public as well as the new seal coat. Several days later after the seal coating had dried we returned to project. This time our striping crews showed up and laid out the entire project and proceeded to paint the parking stall lines and handicap stalls. Once we where finished with that we re-stenciled all the stalls with our customers company name. CTA also asked that we freshen up all the curbs on their property which included red curbs for fire lane as well as blue curbs for the handicap areas. Finally all we had remaining was to do the sign work. CTA had some old fading signs in their parking lot that needed to be replaced. These signs designated that parking stalls as CTA parking only. We took pictures ahead of time and had new parking lot signs designed to match their old parking lot signs. We removed the old we where able to install the new signs on various post and poles.
