Sealcoating & Striping
This weekend we wrapped up the last sealcoating and striping project in a series of projects done in Hawthorne California. The job turned out great and the customer seamed very pleased. It was a school playground and they needed to make some changes to the design.
The first thing we had to do was to show up at 4 am to arrive before our sealing crews so that we could perform some black out of some parking lot striping that wasn’t going to be going back. We do this to ensure that there is no bleed through once the sealcoating starts to wear off.

Once this was done, the parking lot was power cleaned. This process involves sweeping and blowing old loose debris and trash from the asphalt surface and prepping it for the application of sealcoat material. Next, sealcoat material was applied to the surface asphalt in a thick, heavy coat. Small areas were cut in by hand using squeegees, while larger areas were applied with a motorized squeegee machine.
