So, Empire got the call this week to bid some curb painting in Thousand Oaks California.  Our customer asked us to to check our price to make sure it was a solid number because apparently the other contractors came in nearly double our price.  After asking some question, we figured out why their price was so much higher than ours.  What had happen was the property manager called 2 painting companies as well as 2 striping companies to get a quote to paint5000 linear feet of red curb & fire lane  stenciling done on their property in Thousand Oaks, California.  My experience has shown me that Empire Parking Lot Services can not paint a wall to save our lives and painters cant paint lines and curbs to save theirs.  This is why the California State License Board requires to unique license to perform these two unique services.  So long story kinda short the painters where way out of the ball park on the pricing and that had the manager concerned.

About the Red Curb Painting Project

So after we got the contract we moved the project to scheduling.   Our production manager contacted the customer and worked out a time to get on to their property and get the curb painting work completed.  We chose the weekend because we wanted to have as little foot traffic on the project while we where their painting the curbs.  Most property managers agree to this because they know it only takes one pedestrian slipping in wet paint to have a lawsuit on your hands.  We showed up on site at about 8 in the morning and started to do all the necessary prep to the curbs.  Prep work is one the things that separate us from our competitors.  We always throw a basic prep of curbs into a job at no charge.  Many curbs get neglected, or worse painted with the wrong type of paint and end up needing  far more than basic prep, but not this project.  A quick scrape and broom was all that was required before the curb painting was done.

Irvine Ca. Fire Lane Curbs & Fire Hydrant Painting

About This Curb Painting Project

This weekend Empire Parking Lot Services was asked to perform a curb painting & fire lane painting project in Irvine California.  Irvine is located in Orange County between the cities of Costa Mesa & Lake Forrest to the east and west as well as the cities of Tustin & Laguna Niguel to the north and south.  Our customer called us to get their curbs & fire hydrants re-painted and freshened up through out their business park. There was approximately 500 linear feet of red curb and another 50 feet of white curb.  Our customer also wanted to get their fire hydrants and fire mains repainted as well. On the fire mains we went with an oil base paint because it is stronger and looks better over time.  This job was a small one but we appreciate them just as much as the big ones. How Our Curb Painting Job Went

Our crew arrived at 7 am sharp and started off by scraping, sweeping, and prepping all of the curb painting work that was going to be done today.  Empire PLS put a lot of emphasis on prepping before painting because the prep work makes all the difference on how the final job looks and how long it last.  Once the prep work was completed we taped off the curbs and moved on to the curb painting.  Empire PLS likes to spray curbs when curb painting versus rolling curbs because the finish looks better and the paint coat goes on more evenly.  Once we finished the curb striping we painted all the hydrants and mains.  The curb painting project was finished in 2 hours and the tape and mess was cleaned up.  It came out looking great and the customer was very pleased.
