So, Empire got the call this week to bid some curb painting in Thousand Oaks California. Our customer asked us to to check our price to make sure it was a solid number because apparently the other contractors came in nearly double our price. After asking some question, we figured out why their price was so much higher than ours. What had happen was the property manager called 2 painting companies as well as 2 striping companies to get a quote to paint5000 linear feet of red curb & fire lane stenciling done on their property in Thousand Oaks, California. So long story kinda short the painters where way out of the ball park on the pricing and that had the manager concerned.

So after we got the contract we moved the project to scheduling. Our production manager contacted the customer and worked out a time to get on to their property and get the curb painting work completed. We chose the weekend because we wanted to have as little foot traffic on the project while we where their painting the curbs. Most property managers agree to this because they know it only takes one pedestrian slipping in wet paint to have a lawsuit on your hands. We showed up on site at about 8 in the morning and started to do all the necessary prep to the curbs. Prep work is one the things that separate us from our competitors. We always throw a basic prep of curbs into a job at no charge. Many curbs get neglected, or worse painted with the wrong type of paint and end up needing far more than basic prep, but not this project. A quick scrape and broom was all that was required before the curb painting was done.
